The Galecia Group's LibraryCall team is composed of wonderful humans: librarians and early childhood education experts, writers and translators of multiple languages, audio performers and engineers, visual designers, and technology experts. We recognize that modern AI tools can benefit some of these disciplines. We also acknowledge that there are serious concerns about the use of AI:
- concerns about quality, especially for children's content
- intellectual property concerns about the training and output of generative AI models
- environmental impact concerns about the power consumption requirements of modern AI systems
- concerns about accuracy and misinformation
- other ethical and societal concerns about the introduction of AI
As outlined above, we do not use AI tools for the creation or production of our children's stories. We do use AI tools internally, on a limited basis, primarily for technology and administrative support.
