We have some exciting news to share from Anita Gail Jones, one of our wonderful story contributors!
Anita’s debut novel, The Peach Seed, has been acquired by Henry Holt & Company and will be published on August 1, 2023. Set in south Georgia, The Peach Seed is a multigenerational novel that explores the origins of the Dukes family’s traditions and the far-reaching impacts of slave trade from Senegal to the southern United States in the 1800s.

Anita’s extraordinary storytelling is highlighted in Airplanes, Trains, and Billy Goats, which is available to customers in the LibraryCall Storytime Commons. In Airplanes, Trains, and Billy Goats, Anita shares a true story about her grandfather’s childhood in rural Georgia, getting tricked by his brothers and overcoming fears.
This is a fantastic story to share during Black History Month and all year long!
