Originally from Queens, New York, Kratz Prushko brings a wealth of experience in the library industry, including over 13 years as a children’s librarian in large urban systems. “We were thrilled to find someone with so much expertise in the areas of audio production, writing, storytelling, and equity, diversity, and inclusion. Lauren will help LibraryCall meet its goal of providing Dial-A-Story content that reflects the diverse lives of all children and families,” said LibraryCall Principal Lori Ayre.

Outside of her work with LibraryCall, Lauren is a children’s librarian at Los Angeles Public Library, where she produces podcasts with youth. She also serves on the American Library Association’s Coretta Scott King Book Awards Executive Board.

I am excited to develop and adapt folk tales worldwide, especially the Caribbean Islands since my mother immigrated from Trinidad and Tobago when she was a child,” said Kratz Prushko. “I am also excited to develop stories for pre-school and school-age children featuring diverse characters, including mysteries, humor, and friendship stories.”

LibraryCall provides affordable phone and web app technologies to help libraries connect with patrons outside the library. LibraryCall services include Storytime Direct, Dial-A-Story Studio, Community Calendar, and Resource Hotline. For more information, visit www.librarycall.com
