Happy February! It’s Black History Month, which gives us another good reason to highlight the recordings in the LibraryCall catalog that celebrate influential African Americans and their stories.
This week we’ll draw your attention to Bessie Stringfield: Motorcycle Queen! by Lauren Kratz Prushko.
Bessie Stringfield was the first Black woman to drive her motorcycle solo across the United States. She faced many challenges along the way, but her passion for the open road gave her the courage to break barriers for both women and African Americans in motorcycling.
We think you’ll find that Bessie’s story is worth sharing all year long!
