We will be hosting a Storytime Commons Chat via Zoom on Thursday, July 29 at 12:00 PM Pacific (3:00 Eastern/ 2:00 Central/ 1:00 Mountain). The idea behind this event is to give you a space to swap ideas and stories and get your Dial-A-Story questions answered. We’d love to see you all there! Here is the event description and registration link:
Storytime Commons Chat
In this casual forum, we will discuss ideas for optimizing your Dial-A-Story service to connect with as many community members as possible. Maybe you need advice about finding public domain stories or stories in languages other than English. Perhaps you’d like tips on recording your stories without that weird grainy sound in the background. Or maybe you have some great stories or ideas to share with your colleagues. Bring all your questions, tips, and ideas!
A friendly LibraryCall Content Developer will facilitate this 30-minute monthly event.

Milestones
Join us in congratulating Bartholomew County Public Library for being the first system to achieve 1,000 Dial-A-Story listener minutes in a month! That represents a lot of young people and their grownups benefitting from your stories. Great job reaching all those community members, BCPL!
Here at LibraryCall, we recently celebrated the addition of our 100th story to the Storytime Commons! We sometimes come across odd, but delightful stories in our adventures combing through the public domain. Our 100th story is one of those. Diamantes y sapos (Diamonds and Toads) is LibraryCall’s Spanish adaptation of a French fairy tale by Charlies Perrault. In this story, a Good Deeds Fairy gives a kind sister the gift of diamonds falling from her mouth whenever she speaks. Her selfish sister, on the other hand, is cursed to have toads fall from her lips. To me, the kind sister’s “gift” is debatable. What do you think? Would you consider diamonds falling from your mouth to be a gift or a curse?
We hope you like the story! Log in to the LibraryCall dashboard to open the link, and look for the English version later this month.
Happy Storytelling,
Madeline and the LibraryCall team
