I’m guessing you’ve put some time and effort into preparing stories for your Dial-A-Story service. If you’d like to get more return on your investment and reach more community members, we recommend using the LibraryCall web widget. The widget allows you to easily share Dial-A-Story recordings on your library’s website. In addition to sharing stories, you also have options to share: an image, a description/blurb, a read-along PDF or other supporting documents, and a link to a book title in your catalog.
Here’s an example of how Bartholomew County Public Library is using the widget: https://mybcpl.org/dial-a-story Looks great, BCPL!
If you’re interested in including different content or using a widget style that matches your existing website more closely, let us know! We’d be happy to work with you.
Adding the Widget to Your Website
To embed the widget on your website, you or your webmaster will need to use the widget code associated with your Storyline(s). You can find the widget code in the LibraryCall Manager. From the dashboard, click on the Storyline(s) you would like to add to your website, then scroll down to “Website Widget” and click on “Display Widget Code”. This will provide code that can be cut and pasted into your website.
If you need help, our super friendly tech guru Jim Craner would be happy to assist you. Our Support Page lists several options for getting in touch with him.
The widget is included with your Dial-A-Story service, and internet listeners do not count towards your monthly phone minutes allotted. We encourage you to give it a try!
Happy Storytelling,
Madeline and the LibraryCall Team
