Happy August, Everyone!
This week we have some LibraryCall team updates to share, as well as a reminder to register for the free audio recording webinar we’re holding tomorrow.
Welcome Mariam and Stories in Farsi!
We’re excited to welcome a new Content Developer to the LibraryCall team! Mariam Jalalifard has joined us to translate, write, and record stories in Farsi. If you have Farsi speakers in your service area, we will soon have new stories for you to share in that language! Mariam brings a wealth of experience in libraries, education, translation, and working with children. We will share a more detailed profile of Mariam in the coming weeks, but we wanted to relay the exciting news right away!
We'll Miss You, Addie!
In other staff news, Adilene Estrada-Huerta will be leaving LibraryCall to focus on her increasing responsibilities at Sacramento Public Library. We are beyond grateful to Addie for having recorded and edited 46 (!!!) Spanish language stories during her time with us. We’re wishing her all the best, and we’re delighted to be able to continue sharing the wonderful content that she created for us.
Online Workshop This Thursday
There are still spots available for our audio recording workshop tomorrow! Are you using a smartphone to create your Dial-A-Story audio recordings? Smartphones come with some decent audio features built in, but we know from experience that it can be challenging to achieve a clean sound. We've designed a workshop that will help you optimize your phone and your surroundings to record stories that sound better than ever!
Join us for How to Make Your Phone Recordings Sound Great, a free 1-hour workshop on Thursday, Aug. 4 from 11:00-12:00 PDT. We will share tips and tricks to help you create cleaner, more professional-sounding audio recordings using a smartphone or similar device.
We're adding Farsi language stories! In this article, we also share some LibraryCall team hellos and goodbyes, as well as a reminder about an upcoming free webinar we're hosting.
