As we reflect on this first year of LibraryCall service, we’d like to take a moment to thank you for being an early adopter and supporter. Your feedback and contributions have been so valuable, and it brings us joy to think about how our combined efforts provide opportunities for families to feel more connected to libraries, stories, and resources in difficult times. Thank you for making our year brighter!
New Stories
We’re excited to release the first story written and recorded by Lauren Kratz Prushko, our newest Content Developer. The Neighbors: Julian and Leilani Out in Nature is a delightful story full of preschool themes: sensory exploration, sharing, and friendship. Lauren’s story was inspired by the traditional fingerplay Mr. Wiggle and Mr. Waggle. We hope you enjoy sharing it with your communities!
The Winter Queen is another original LibraryCall story, written by Content Developer Anna Suarez. This comforting story touches on loss, love, and remembrance– themes that often emerge for families during the holiday season.
Title Sorting Change
We made a small change to the Storytime Commons to improve browsability. Titles are now sorted alphabetically, ignoring articles like “the” and “an”. For example, The Winter Queen is now sorted with titles that begin with W rather than T. It’s a small thing, but we wanted to point this out in case you’re used to seeing all the titles beginning with “The” together.
We hope you all enjoy some time off between now and the new year. We’re chuffed that we can help you continue to provide storytime services while you rest and restore. Let us know how else we can support you!
Happy Holidays,
Madeline and the LibraryCall team
