As Summer Reading winds down and kids head back to school, we know many of you are thinking about how to support the families in your community during these challenging times. We thought it might be helpful to have a Back to School story you could share that would be sensitive to kids’ experiences with Covid-19 and school closures, so we created an original story for you.
Marshmallow Goes to School (6 min.) is about a young girl named Mary and her best friend Marshmallow, who happens to be a lamb. When it's time for Mary to return to school after a yucky virus has kept her at home, Marshmallow follows her there. The story is inspired by the resilience of young people, the therapeutic nature of pets and friends, and the nursery rhyme Mary Had a Little Lamb. Let us know what you think!
