We have some new outreach tools to share with you! We know that one of the challenges of promoting dial-a-story is that the families who would most benefit from the service tend to have limited internet and library access. You may have found that promoting the service on your website or inside the library is not reaching as many people as you'd like. To help you spread the word about your service more widely, we now offer several templates that you can use to capitalize on the reach of your local media and schools.
New publications
- Press release template: share information about your dial-a-story service with local media outlets. Don’t forget radio stations! In 2020, 50% of U.S. adults said they got news on the radio often or sometimes.
- Letter to educators template: let principals and teachers know about your service and ask them to help you promote it among harder-to-reach students and families. You might ask for permission to send home flyers or publish an article in the school newsletter.
- School/community newsletter template: provide an article for a local newsletter. The editors of these publications are usually happy to have library contributors.
You can access all of our outreach resources by logging into the LibraryCall Manager. Click on "Help" at the top of the page, then scroll down to Help with Promotion/Outreach. A link to our flyer templates can also be found there. Each of these templates can be downloaded as a Word file and tailored to match your library's specific information and voice.
Coming soon: a printable poster template you can distribute around town.
