When we look at the huge list of Dial-A-Story recordings added and shared by library staff and our creative team in 2021, it's amazing to believe it was just a year ago that we started with a small repository and the lofty goal of helping libraries connect families with stories and information. It's been fun to partner with libraries to make that vision come to life!

For fun, here are the top Dial-A-Story titles used by LibraryCall members in 2021. Look at all those Spanish language stories!

Now Hiring: Content Developer (diverse stories)

The Galecia Group is seeking a Content Developer to adapt, write, record, and curate stories for our Librarycall Dial-A-Story service. LibraryCall helps libraries bridge the digital divide with cost-effective Dial-A-Story and other phone-based services. We are looking for two contractors to produce stories that reflect the diverse experiences of children throughout the country.

We are pleased to announce that Madeline Walton-Hadlock who will be focusing her initial efforts on finding Spanish language material from the Storytime Commons. She will also be looking for native Spanish speakers to re-record some of the stories she finds in the public domain. Anna Suarez is an MLIS intern who will be focusing her energies on Quality Control for the Storytime Commons audio recordings and metadata. Welcome to both! We are excited to have them aboard!

Two New Hires: Content Developer and Content Strategist

We are delighted to announce that we have found two excellent candidates for our Content Developer and Content Strategist positions.  We knew we needed a Content Devleper and we found an excellent person for the job. Welcome Jane Cronkhite for that position!  In addition, we created a new position for one of our interviewees because we just needed to get her involved.  So, welcome also to Phoebe Owens, our new Content Strategist!

We are delighted to announce that Phoebe Owens, a powerhouse from Portland, has joined The Galecia Group to help shepherd the development and outreach of our LibraryCall suite of services. We were looking for content developers and we found Phoebe and she has jumped on board and kick started our work getting LibraryCall and especially our Dial-a-Story service on the fast track. We are delighting to already be providing dial-a-story services to libraries during this time when so many people have been left behind.
