February is Black History Month. Another story we recommend sharing during Black History Month is Airplanes, Trains, and Billy Goats. In this story, Anita Gail Jones tells the story of her father Silas as a young boy growing up on a farm in southwest Georgia in the 1920s. This engaging story celebrates Black Southern culture, family, and conquering fears. In addition to being the author, Anita Gail Jones brings to this recording her talent as a professional storyteller. (14 min.)
