10 spring story picks
March 20, 2023Happy first day of spring!
Whether the blossom buds are popping open in your community or you're covered in snow and thinking about the promise of warmer weather, we thought it would be a good day to share some spring-inspired story picks with you.
- The Fairy Flower
- The Little Bear and the Prickly Porcupine / El Osito Y El Puercoespín
- Little Bunny Foo-Foo / El Conejito Fufu
- The Missing Bunny
- The Tale of Peter Rabbit / El cuento de Pedrito el Conejo
- Winnie the Pooh and the Bees / Winnie the Pooh y las abejas
Stories Coming Soon
- Ana's Gift, a new Día del niño / Children’s Day story (English and Spanish) by Lorena Romero, will be available this week.
- We will begin to launch stories in Dari, Farsi, and Pashto within the next month. Arabic stories will also arrive soon. If you have community members who speak those languages, start thinking about how your dial-a-story might serve as a tool to bridge gaps and connect with new families.

Artificial intelligence is evolving rapidly, and the world is scrambling to understand the power of AI tools like chatbots and other generative AI that can transform language prompts into visual art, music, reports, presentations, and more. You might be wondering about how new developments in AI will impact libraries.
To help the library community understand the potential of AI and its applications in libraries, the Galecia Group is hosting Public Libraries & Artificial Intelligence (PLAID3), a FREE virtual summit on Tuesday, March 28. The event will feature demonstrations of AI tools, discussions on how AI can be used in library operations and programming, and opportunities for attendees to discover new AI tools and resources.
Presenter Jim Craner will cover a wide range of topics, including ethical considerations of AI, collection development, cataloging, readers' advisory, reference and research, programs and projects, outreach activities, grant writing, and more. The summit will also provide attendees with an opportunity to ask questions and engage in open discussion about the use of AI in public libraries.
